how do I reach you

How do I reach you
when you are there
in my sight
in my arms
your oceanic blue eyes drowning me
but its depth beyond my reach

How do I reach you
when you are there
for me
with me
in my arms
but beyond my reach

How do I reach you
when you are there
with me on the parapet
by the blue sea
your fingers snaking on my mine
but the storm raging in your heart beyond my reach

How do I reach you
when you are there
as I wince for you
away from your eyes and mind
when I know you bleed as I wince
but you decide to stay away beyond my reach

How do I reach you
when you shut yourself
but put the key beyond my reach

ha true love at work eh! well the very fact that u have expressed it in such a simple n straightforward fashion seems to suggest that.
wrt the reaching out part, well isn't that the eternal prob.

but the Q i always face is whether the holding out part is something i feel in my mind or whether it is actually so! whatever the answer the situation is terrible.

reaching out, or holding out, are actually eternal issues. btw, wud u clarify wat exactly u refer to by holding out here.,

you speak about "the storm raging in your heart beyond my reach" and also "when you shut yourself but put the key beyond my reach" and so on... every stanza seems to express that very thought.
well, these are your ideas or feelings about what the other person is going thru. and u might be right. then there are two possibilities; either that person doesn't want you to reach her core or there's nothin to reach out and touch. if the first is true then that's what "holding out" means to me.

yea, that's right, each stanza has both. the feeling to reach out, somebody holding out. either of the possibilities could be true. the trouble is the journey that begins with both but ends just short.

Is the Q you always face, according to you, about the person that I am assuming? that is a classic case in point as well, i think.

well in that particular case, i was given the reasons for the holding out. not initially. but later on. so there is no confusion in my head. the mind is muddled when the situation itself is not clear, as i think is true in ur case. and also at times with other subjects in my case

yep. sometimes the situation is hopelessly not clear. life goes on. hehe.
